Listers, I have an idea that I can't execute myself but perhaps
one of you out there is waiting for it?
I'd like someone to make a book called "Where's That Weasel?
Find The Ferret." I envision it as a spin-off combination of the
"Where's Waldo" and "Spot" books, only with photos!
This "flap book" would show double-page spreads of apparently-
ferretless rooms. The text would say "Where's that weasel?" or
"Find the ferret(s)" and you'd lit a flap to discover--guess who!
For example--a porch is pictured, with coats, umbrellas, boots,
etc--lift a flap, and there's an adorable fuzzy head poking out
a boot!
The bedroom shows a terry robe flung across a bed--lift the robe,
and voila! a weasel!
The linen closet shows sheets and towels neatly stacked and folded-
except for one bumpy towel. Yup--the ferret's inside!
And here's the one we enact each evening--a sweater-wearing human
is sitting on the couch, reading. Lift the flap--and there's a sleepy
woozle nestled all curled up inside the sweater, with his head on her
shoulder. . .
I can picture this book clearly. But I don't know how to "make it
so." One of you might be waiting for an idea like this, so here it is
(p.s. if you use it, could Emmett and I be "thanked" for the idea?)
Perhaps the alphabet groups could do it as a contest?
(you know the alphabet groups--C.D.F.A, L.I.F.E, F.U.R.O., etc)
They could have people donate pairs of photos--"before" and "after"
ferret--and select pairs to make into a book (or books) as a possible
fund-raiser. You know how people send pictures to be in cat calendars?
Work it the same way. . .
Sure, I am daydreaming--but if I just keep sitting on this idea no
one will use it, but if I share it perhaps it will happen. . .
