All that clucks is not a duck, and all that is green and slimy is not ECE
(Some say it's the definition of a bio major's passion.). There are
multiple forms of food poisoning, parasites, infections, eating something
non-digestible, etc. which can look the same but finish fast.

BTW, when ACTUAL ECE (You'll KNOW -- we had ferrets near death for months.)
hits complications are common so treat for them as they occur. Sometimes
this will mean that antibiotics (such as flagyl given in combo with amoxi
and pepto) are essential, or carafate, or prednisone, or some other
problem-specific treatments. Without the things above (and sub-Q, and
pedialtye, and vitamins, and, and AD in addition to their regular Totally
Ferret...) we'd have 4 ferrets or fewer ferrets than that here rather than
all 7. (Not going into the argument in the field about ECE vs.
helicobacter as possible origins here; it's acadmic.)
