Ferrets are very social animals.  They really like to be where the action
is, even if they can't be out in the action.  They perk up when you walk
into the room.  I think you'd have two very unhappy ferrets if they were
stored in the laundry room.  The light is probably better in the breezeway
too.  Try and convince the boyfriend to see it your way.
