Hi Everyone:

I have an elderly ferret with a gigantic pred belly who is having issue
with soaking himself every time he pees and/poops (whether in or out of
a litter box). I have disposable peed pads in the cage and around the
house for him to use, but sometimes nothing helps and he just soaks
himself. He gets his lower half bathed at least two-three times a day
(with Ivory soap and water) but he is still developing what I believe
are urine burns on his lower abdomen. If I was home all day, I could
bathe him more often, but the problem seems to be from when I leave him
to go to work. I'm wondering if there is anything safe to put on him
like diaper rash cream. He can't reach to lick it off himself, but he
has 2 brothers in the cage with him who might get to it and I'm not
sure if the zinc in diaper rash ointments is poisonous to ferrets.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Dooks,
Leanne
