Hi all,
Here's my story. I recently adopted 2 ferrets from the shelter that I
work. Gonzo, only ferret for 2 years, met them at the shelter and said
he liked them well enough. The first day they came home all went well.
No puffed tails or hissing. They even dooked for a while. The second
day (yesterday) Gonzo started hissing at Kodo (the boy) every once in a
while. He hissed at Daisy once or twice. Right now I have two cages and
Gonzo discovered that he could explore the new cage. Kodo was sleeping
in his own catapillar when Gonzo stuck half of himself in. At first it
sounded like the dooking noise and then it sounded as if there was a
little pain, some hissing and then I pulled Gonzo out. Gonzo was the one
who sounded as if he was hurt, only I could see Kodo's face and he wasn't
bitting him. Anyway, Sometime's they dook and sometimes the two boys
hiss at eachother. Kodo seems a little depressed, too.It seems as if
Gonzo is being the bully. (it may just seem like that to me because
Gonzo weighs about 3.6 pounds and Kodo is 2.8) They both get along
really well with Daisy, she even wrestles with Gonzo and she is only 1.4.

So here it is. Last 2 nights they slept new ferrets slept in their cage
and Gonzo slept in his. Tonight I am trying Kodo and Daisy's bedding in
Gonzo's cage and locking them in (I will be sleeping on the fouton right
next to the cage in case any fighting goes on). As I write this Kodo and
Daisy are sleeping in Gonzo's sleep sack on the 2nd level and Gonzo is
sleeping on his turtle on the 5th level. If tonight flops, tomarrow I
will wash all bedding and ferrets and stick them in the same cage to
sleep again.

Any suggestions on how to get them to like eachother more. I am not to
worried about either of them getting hurt, but I want them to all be
happy. And I wouldn't mind having all 3 ferrets pile up in or on the
same piece of bedding for a long nap. Any help is appreciated.

P.S. Blaisdell from Marquette, if your out there, this is Dayna and yes
these are the same two ferrets that have been at the shelter since June.
I tried to e-mail you back but it didn't go through.

Dayna, Gonzo, Kodo, and Daisy
