The young ones sometimes ingest things like artificial cloth fibers,
fake sheep fleece, latex, rubber and other items that will not digest
and will block. If it becomes a full blockage (which can also increase
the toxin load in the blood stream) or if it perforates then it IS an
emergency.

I hope that you already have a vet who is familiar with ferrets and
have been having the needed kit appointments.
