I need to say this to protect anything like this from happening to you
or to another shelter.

We shelters need all the help we can get. So, I was deliighted when a
family wanted to volunteer. A family with special needs kids. I have a
special son myself & so. . . .

The first couple of times they came, was ok, but this last time is
beyond anything I have witnessed, in all the years of both sheltering &
as a mother to special needs kids. I have also worked with the schools
with many special needs kids.

The kids where allowed to jump over my half doorways, (to step over to
the next room) where ferrets were. One sat in the laundry hamper where
the ferrets laundry was. He insisted on jumping & running. The other
sat on my sofa, kicking his foot at my 9 year old dog.

I had a horrid biter I call Pirana to break her leg last Saturday
when this all happened. Had her almost sever my thumb. I had her &
her brother in a playpen & told them to leave her alone. They picked
at her until I caged her, where they still pestered her.

I was just livid as the parents said NOTHING to these kids.
Nothing!!!!They showed disrespect to me & the ferrets. No disregard
to any of my belongings. One kid had put a ferret in his mouth & the
mother took a picture. And the same one had slung Wolverine around.

They did leave. And Wolverine acted funny. I looked him over & called
the vet as we were on our way. He had started bleeding out from a
rupture from being slung.

So, we ended up having Wolverine PTS. Casper 2 went the next day.

So, please watch the kids, even with parents. Don't let something like
this happen with you. It breaks my heart. These could be good kids with
just simple discipline

Bridge Greeters, can you make sure that these boys meet up with some of
the crew from here.

Please help us with funding & do a Good Search with us!
We also are in need of sponsors for the older hospice needs. Just $5
