Does anyone out there know of a safe way to help an older ferret with CHF to
lose some weight?

I changed his food to low-fat, stopped any treats, and reduced the ferretone
he gets. He initially lost a bit, but seems to be stuck at the weight he
is. He needs to lose more to help him with his heart ailment. He is on
lasix two-three times a day and also a heart med daily. When having a good
day, he is very strong and playful. He is 6+years old and I want dearly to
help him safely lose weight, but he loves to eat and would feel more
deprived if I removed his food for time periods. Besides, we have several
ferrets and they are free roaming and eating, so that just wouldn't work.
One of the other ferrets is also overweight, but he is young yet. I would
like for him to lose also.

Please send any ideas you all have. Our beloved "Big-boy"is a real sweetie.
