 Hi Dick. I just read your article about the MD ferret. I am so furious I'm
shaking. That was so rediculously unnecessary! I don't know if you know either
party involved, but I think you should tell the owners of the unnecessarily
killed ferret that they should sue the Washing County Public Health Dept.!
First of all they were negligent for not having the girl that was bitten put on
rabies shots. And they did NOT follow the most recent compendium where I
believe someone said ferrets were listed as being domesticated. I had called,
and the lady I talked to kept saying they were not domestic. Something must be
done. Public Health must follow their own rules (start the girl on shots, etc.)
and if they don't, as they didn't, they should pay the consequences!
