I've been a bit behind on the FML lately on purpose, in order to spend more
time with my ferrets and less reading my email. Also because I've grown a
bit sad at reading all of the personal attacks on shelters, other people
and organizations that aren't synonymous to this list. BIG does a great
job of keeping us on track but I do think the purpose of this list being
about ferrets and the questions, tips and support their owners exchange,
gets lost sometimes with other people's need to label things and blame
others.

I'm most saddened by the recent discussion about the Rainbow Bridge being
a Biblical/Christian invention. Does it really matter what religious
affiliation you are when your pet passes away? We all have the same
capacity to mourn regardless if you are Christian or any other
denomination. The Rainbow Bridge allows people to honour the pets that
made their lives special, it doesn't matter where that magical place is.

The Rainbow Bridge doesn't have to belong in heaven, it can just as easily
be in your own heart.
