I used brand name Pediapred for a number of years, obtained from a
human pharmacy. Then, quite a few years ago, my pharmacy only carried
the generic. I tried it and the ferrets didn't seem to take to it. I
had them order Pediapred for me, which they did. At one point, I ended
up with another generic and it worked beautifully. I have been using
this generic brand for probably 8-10 years now. I have never had a
problem with it. In fact, my vet has started using this also. It is the
same as Pediapred and is considerably cheaper for the 120mL bottle.

Not sure why your vet would tell you that a generic is not
recommended?? As long as it is the same formula, it should be fine.
We all take generic drugs all the time

It is so easy to administer. The ferrets just take it and move on. I
feed a small bowl of soup and then give it to them when they finish.
