Bug problem

Does anyone know how to deal with bug and particularly ants without harmful
product to ferrets?  I would hesitate to remove them, then bug-bomb because
I think that it might leave residue and my problem is not that bad.  I did
find some ants near the food and water.  I vacuumed them up, but I am
afraid that they might return.  I would love to spray the corners with ant
killer, but I think that it might hurt the little guys.
