Hi this is my first posting, but I have been on this list for about a week.
My SO and I are looking into getting a ferret, and I have a few questions

Are there any breeders or shelters in the KY/TN area, I haven't been able to
find any.

How do you all feel about shipping ferrets? and do you know of good
breeders that are willing to ship ferrets to me, I don't need show quality
markings or anything, but I do want healthy.

Is adoption a good idea for a first ferret or should it be left to those
with more experience?

I will need to get everything the ferret will need I know I will need (in
addition to food, liter, shampoo & Linetone which will need to be purchased
regularly) a cage, litterbox, harness & lease, collar (I have heard that the
harness is a little to large to leave on all the time) is there anything
that I am forgetting? and does anyone have any suggestions, I need to keep
costs down as much as possible, but I want to provide the best I can for my
new friend.

Any help that you guys can give me is much appriciated
