Someone asked about ferrets & dachshunds....I have one of each.  The
dachshunds, OSCAR is almost 6 & we just got the Baxter, the ferret about
a year ago.  They love each other.  They will run & chase, play hide &
seek, and roll around together.  They will even eat out of the same dish.
Of course, Oscar was already used to cats & kittens so this may have
something to do with it.  Oscar will even bark at Baxter when he's locked
in his cage & Oscar wants him to come out.  Try it, supervised, see how
it goes.... If you don't panic, they usually won't either.
