Hi there,
I worked in the pet food retail industry for several years, and thought I
might help with this question. Eukanuba is indeed made by Iams to be
better than Iams. As a cat food, the Euk. is an all ages formula, and it
boasts the highest meat content of any cat food on the market. In fact, if
you read the label, you will see that the first three ingredients are
chicken products, and six of the main eight ingredients are animal products.
They, Euk., have a new kitten food out now and it also can boast the highest
meat content of any kitten food on the market, and actually probably nudges
regular Euk by a smidge.

Also, as an FYI, the Iams and Euk. by-products are almost purely organ
meat, which makes them highly digestible. I've seen samples of them, and
there are no impurities visible to the naked eye, unlike with many other
products that I've seen side by side with Iams and Euk.

My advice, if your rets, such as kits, need extra protien, fat, and
calories, feed them the Eukanuba kitten food, if not, feed them the Eukanuba
Adult chicken and rice. (Any store that can carry Iams, should be able to
get you Eukanuba without much trouble, as they are the same company)

Note on Chumley with the cold: thanks for all the duck soup and amoxicillian
advice. We threw together some duck soup last night, and he loves it. We
put in Ensure so he can get some weight back on (he's lost a ton), and
Pediatlyte for electrolytes lost from the runs. Well, he's getting right
back up to speed! Stool looks normal, sneezes are much better and almost
gone (thanks in part to kiddie Benedryl), and when we let him out tonight he
was a bundle of energy for two hours. And when we mixed the amoxi with some
Ferretvite per a suggestion, that went over great and he ate it all up!

Thanks also for all of the notes of support for Otto. We miss him so much,
and the words of encouragement help. This weekend includes a trip for
Chumley to visit my parents, as well as a search for a buddy. (We've seen
one and will see two more tomorrow.) Wish us luck!
