Of my two ferrets, Clover is wonderful to take for a walk; Princess is a
pain.

If I take Princess, i have to have a carry bag or jacket (and it's summer
here at the moment) to carry her in, and no expectation of getting
anywhere. She gets into the bushes, and squirms, and pulls backwards
against the leash, and refuses to walk. Does anyone have any suggestions
on how to encourage her to walk more reliably? Things I can try? How long
it takes?

Princess is a rescue ferret; i've had her for a year (hey! 10 days to
the anniversary!) and her biting has improved remarkably, but she is still
timid round new people, loud noises etc. Her nickname is "Scuttle" as she
disappears into my bedroom.
