Let me guess ...hes' deaf.

(The owners reply was a yes. So here was my reply:)

Okay but here's the thing.

NOBODY knows why. NOBODY. I mean we've brainstormed for years about
this on the deaf ferrets list and have come up wih nothing. And also
it's not a really "common" behavior in deaf ferrets, in that I would
not say the majority of them engage in this behavior at any time, ya
know? But it is definately a deaf ferret "thing" (to see digging out
dishes well past kithood) that we see a lot. And you do see it a lot
in them.

You know, sometimes Renee Downs gives me insight to some little things
from working with the deaf so much. I should ask her if she has any
theories on this. Renee? Or maybe some of our deaf folk on the FML
here might have ideas?

I'm sorry I cannot help beyond what you've already tried and what
others have suggested. I realize that by telling that many deaf
ferrets do this does not tell you "why" your baby does this, let
alone give you any clues as to how to stop it. Just one of the
many eccentric quirks we enjoy about our deafies. Lol.

Wolfy

ps, Have you tried contacting SuperTonks? Perhaps he can assist you ...
