September 1- Drawing for stained glass roundel a gorgeous white ferret
crafted by Heather Wojtowicz, chances $2 each 3/$5 at the shelter.
 
September 6 - FERRETSTOCK IV A 50's Celebration of human and mustelid
companionship.
 
Join us for fun & music in the "sock hop" theme.  10:30 AM - 3:30 PM The
day starts at 10:30 AM with Sock hop sounds from the shelter's friendly
DJ - Alex Jones of "Moondance Productions".  The day will feature a
Pledge-a-Thon fund raiser (advance sign up - and win a free tote with $50
in pledges this day), many vendors, ferrety stuff, games, prizes,
raffles, club contacts, Contest including: Best ferret Tattoo on a Human,
a Dessert Auction with scrumptious decadent delights - all proceeds from
this annual event benefit hospice veterinary care and education programs
at Ferret Wise.  New Games this event "SOCK HOP" and Best Mutt!  CUTEST
FERRET PHOTO CONTEST- all proceeds benefit ADV research at U of GA!
 
Sat Sept 13 - join us at PET EXPO - 10AM- 5PM.

Sept 20- DOGFEST- Hosted by SARL ( Salem Animal Rescue League) at Salem
High School 10 AM- 3 PM.
 
Ferret Wise will have a booth with the NEW "Critter Quilt" to benefit
Ferret Wise & SOS ( drawing Dec 6, 2003), and will host a plush adopt a
thon with Douglas Cuddle Toys.  Stop by for a copy of Ferrets Magazine or

OCT 3-5  2003 International Ferret Symposium.
 
Hosted by International Ferret Congress.  This years Symposium
extravaganza features Friday Dr. Deborah Kemmerer, Dr. Hanneke Moorman,
Dr. Jerry Murray, Dr. Bruce Williams and Dr. Heather Wilson.
 
Topics include the latest in ferret health care, health care in Europe,
endocrine diseases, Aleutian Disease Virus and clinical pathology.
 
A vet panel with Q&A will also be held.  ; Think Global Act Local panel
(Alicia Drakiotes, Pam Troutman and Catherine Bell) also Jeanne Carley
on Photographing ferrets, Brett Middleton on ferret genetics & Sally
Heber on Ferret Breeding, Sunday Marylou Zarbock and Melissa Kauffman,
behind the scenes with Ferrets Magazine.  Bob Church, ferret enrichment

October 24 - Pumpkin Carving Night at Ferret Wise.
 
Bring a pumpkin carved or carve it here!  6-9PM, refreshments served.
Prepare your ferrety themed pumpkin for the Keene, NH Pumpkinfest (Oct
25) tomorrow!  Great fun- great fellowship -- Prize for the most creative
ferret pumpkin!
 
December 6- HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE at Ferret Wise Annex- 11 AM- 2:30PM.
 
Tour the shelter, Holiday refreshments in the shelter.  Plenty of holiday
goodies to purchase, raffles.  Drawing of the 2003 Holiday Quilt Raffle
at 2:30 PM.
