Hi everyone.
I had a really bad Thursday night. We think Sniffles may have insulinoma.
She is only eight months old so when we saw the first signs such as the
tiredness and not being as playful we had thought she had just had a cold
or a bug but Thursday night it hit. I walked into the ferrets' room and
sniffles wasn't moving. I picked her up and took her to my husband she was
just laying there out of it. We rushed her some karo syrup and she seemed
alittle better. She went to her doctor first thing the next day and he
said just to monitor her through the weekend and I would need to take her
to a specialist on monday because he didn't feel experienced enough to help
with this. We have been feeding her chicken babyfood and ensure ontop of
when she is eating, it seems to help her. She is just tired and wants to
play with her sisters but it seems to hurt her. She also seems almost
afraid to jump down off of things no matter how short the distance. I
wanted to know what other ferrets have acted like when the had the early
stages of Insulnoma. Sniffles has not lost any weight and even looks to
have gained. she is going potty but less than nomal. Her back legs are
not seeming to work for her as well as they used to but when touched she
doen't have any pain reactions. Any help would be great. I am hopefullly
not going to have to work tommorrow so she can go to the vet first thing if
not she will be going after 3. I really hope I don't have to work. Also
if anyone knows if these symptoms can be related to anything else I would
be very greatful.

On another note Guiness whoI have before called buckethead has again fit
her nickname. In all the rush Thurday night Guiness found a small hole in
the floor of our bedroom. When they built the house and pout the pipes in
the cut the holes too big. We thought she was a gonner. I laid on the
floor for 4 hours hoping to hear her. Finally at about 1 am we heard
something. She had fallen down to the first story and was trapped. My
husband ended up breaking through the drywall to get her out. Thank god
my husband is an engineer in the army and knows how to fix it. She is ok
nothing was worng with her even after that fall. It is just another
example of how important it is to ferret proff every aspect of your home.
this hole was about an inch wide. We never thought she would fit in it,
we were wrong.

Well I wanted to share that and if anyone can help with Sniffles that
would be great.

Thanks
Carrie,Drew,Batty,Sniffles, and Guiness
