Although I already responded individually, I wanted to thank everyone who
sent me tips on how to help Mikette take her hated pred medicine.  And I
wanted to share the news with everyone (-:  I ended up getting the
pediapred (also orapred is available) from the human pharmacy.  It's a
tasteless formula and I mixed her prescription amount (1ml of pred = 3ml
pediapred) in with just a bit of ferretone in an open bowl.  Mikette
licked it clean!  You have no idea how happy I am!  This was such a
battle, to the point where I wanted to skip some of her doses.  Their
were teeth marks on the syrninge from her biting it away from her teeth,
and any that I got in her mouth she would shake out when I unscruffed
her.  It was awful, I hated putting her through it.
 
I never expected such a solution, I was just going to try more flavors
and wanted some opinions.  Let me tell you, I just tasted the Pred to
compare the two before trying the pediapred.  UGH!!!  Pred has the most
awful, bitter taste - I can't imagine any flavor masking that, it coats
the whole tongue.  The pediapred is very mild.  All I can say is YEA!!!!!
