Dear Shron

I started out several years using the cat claw clippers. Each nail
trim session put me in a cold sweat, complete with shaking hands. I
had visions of completely amputating a toe.

My vet suggested baby (human) nail clippers. These worked wonderfully,
but they were a bit small for me to have good control, and sometimes
not enough leverage for those older thicker nails.

My current favorite for some time now are a pair of Sure Grip by
Revlon. They are the finger nail size, sharper than all get out, and
have a black covering that is almost non slip, even with Ferretone.
Yesterday I trimmed 280 toenails in about 30 minutes.

LaCross makes a good sharp pair too.

As long as the clippers are sharp and I cut side to side, not top to
bottom, I never crush or split a nail, even the old guys.

Just don't waste you $$ on the el cheapos. I've tossed a couple of
those.

If you think ferret nails are tricky, try trimming a Hedgehog's nails.
They roll into a ball with feet inside and they don't like ferretone.
