Greetings to all you ferret lovers,
 
I don't use litter boxes for my ferrets.  This started when I lived on
my boat with two fur kids and didn't want the hassle of trying to find
litter in a foreign country.  I used paper towels in the two places that
the ferrets had chosen for their potty area.  Yes, occasionally one
ferret would leave me a 'gift' in front of the sink, but I learned to
look out.
 
Upon returning home, I use newspapers in the corners of the room where
the ferrets have free roam.  Fortunately, the house is totally hardwood
floor.  I don't know what I would do about carpets when the ferrets have
the run of the house.
 
I have researched printing inks and find that the black doesn't contain
anything toxic, and the little guys don't spend enough time on it to
get their paws dirty.  Nor do they seem to have any temptation to play
with it.
 
On to a much more humorous subject.  My ferrets love to chase ping pong
balls.  This is always interactive with me because the balls need to be
rolled or bounced to get the ferrets' attention.  Even my biggest 3
pounder can't quite get his sharp little teeth far enough around the
ball to make any punctures.  The kids try to hold them in their little
front paws while attempting to bite, and, sooner or later, the ball
goes shooting across the room with a ferret in hot pursuit.  As with
everything, this requires supervision, but no one has come up with any
dangerous moves as yet.
 
Any other tips for fun out there?
