Hello again-
I wrote last week about my "coughing" Baby and wanted to let everyone know
that she is doing much better.  After calling every vet in the area, I found
one that was an exotic animal specialist.  It was a hard search but I got
lucky.  I took Baby into the vet as an emergency case around 10:30 pm
Wednesday.  Dr. Davis looked her over and after a taking her temperature,
blood tests, x-rays, and general inspection...Baby was diagnosed with
Broncial/Pneumonia.  She stayed in the hospital overnight in a misting box
for her respiratory infection and was doing quite well the next morning.
Over the weekend I watched her closely, giving her medication and feeding
her by hand (just in case she wasn't eating enough by herself).  She is
still not 100% but she is looking good.  I was really worried about her...
 
As if the above paragraph wasn't hard enough on me I am sad to say I have to
now look for a new home for my angels.  I live with a family member and she
has decided she no longer will allow the ferts to live there.  I can not
move out due to financial restrictions and I have no one who will keep them
for me.  I have a male sable "Brut" and a female sable "Baby" (the above
mentioned).  They are both wonderful ferts, very sociable and come to you
when their names are called.  This breaks my heart, having to write away my
life.  For two years now I have loved and adored them both.  They need good
homes, where they can stay together and be loved as I loved them.  If any-
one knows of someone who has a heart of gold and would be able to take my
babies in, let me know.  I have a 3-story cage for them (which they are
rarely made to use) and MANY little ferrets extras.  I live in Lafayette, IN
and in an area where ferrets are common but not treasured.  I have few
options at this time...I can't abandon them but they are no longer wanted
where I live, and very much wanted by myself.
 
Thank you again to those who wrote me regarding Baby, and a special thanks
to Trish who was truely there when I needed her and didn't know what to do.
I'm sorry to hear about your awful experience, I can now understand your
urgency.  Dooks and kisses to you.
 
Your search along with my own would be greatly appreciated for a new home
for babies.
