Hi,

My kids all have "heavenly" names. When I got my first ferret, Luna, I
wanted to name her after a Greek character. Not necessarily a god or
goddess, but Greek. (I was reading a book on Greek Mythology and was
entranced with it.) So, after searching through some books, I came up
with Luna (goddess of the moon).

Not long after getting Luna, I figured out she needed a playmate (one week
to be exact and thanks to FMLers telling me how to care for my new baby!)
and out we went. Well, I wasn't so attached to Greek mythology that I felt
I had to stay with it, but I wanted the guys to go together, so I was
opting for "TIC" as in LUNA-TIC (haha, I know) or Sola as in Moon and Sun.
So, I chose Sola. Thus, I had my moon and my sun. I just naturally
gravitated toward "heavenly" names.

About 6 months into owning my two fuzzy love slugs, I was contacted by
Barbara Ludt, (our wonderful Auntie Barbara)of South Florida Ferret Club
and Rescue NE Branch and she told me that she had two guys who needed
homes, and she knew I was moving to a big house with a ferret room, and we
were on the road two days later to get a boy and a girl. I had already
picked out names for them before ever seeing them and the names seem to
fit. Thus entered Orion and Venus!

Well, I said I was going to stop with four. That was it! :-) So, one day,
I wrote an e-mail to someone and wrote the kids names out and noticed that
the first letter of their names almost spelled "LOVES". So I started
signing my e-mails as APRIL 'LOVES' FERRETS (without the "E" yet). People
kept telling me to be careful that I would have an "E" before I knew it and
sure enough, about 4 months later, my husband and I found another little
guy we just adored and brought him home. Enter, Eros.

So there ya go. The LOVES ferrets of heaven! :-)

April and the fuzzy love slugs....
