I was hesitant to post about this part of the biting deaf kit that was
handed over to me. After going through the paperwork that came in with
her and speaking with the pet store, I realized things are a little awry.

This ferret was sold as an MF with papers and such, but she has no tattoos.
Trying to get to the bottom of things, I went in to the store when I knew
the manager was not around and had another employee pull the records on
the delivery of kits she came in with. Granted, this may have been a bit
underhanded, but it was obvious the manager was lying through his teeth.
It turns out the ferret did not come from MF, but another Jersey based
group.

I spoke with MF about the little girl before I knew she was not MF and
informed them that it was not physically possible for this fuzz to be 4
months as their records stated. Even though this did not apply directly to
our little rescue, the story that MF gave was that the kits born to moms in
December-January are always smaller because they do not have as much body
fat and produce less milk, so they are smaller in size and appear to be
several weeks younger. A petstore employee informed me they were going
elsewhere because MF was having a ferret shortage.

I have not taken this up with the petstore's corporate office yet, I am
interested to see how the local store handles this situation. In the past
two weeks, their response has been to ignore my calls! They were initially
very, very helpful.

Just my experiences with why that MF kit you purchased might not have it's
tattoos even though you get the paperwork. It appears MF gives a better
guarantee, so the store won't lose their investment when you have health
problems in the first year. Granted, I have not found out enough yet about
this other farm, but from Regee's appearance and disposition, I can't say
they are an improvement!
