Hi readers,

I HAVE to concur with Mr Lipinsky here.

As a 501c3 org. Ferret Wise was also paying yearly insurance premiums
when holding outside events. And you need to check with city officials
who MAY REQUIRE it. Many municipalities will mandate insurance coverage
of at least 1 million dollars. This was some of the unseen costs which
we were required to provide in years past to run our gatherings such as
Ferretstock ( the earlier events not the party in Maryland) .

All it takes is a passerby getting scratched by a ferret or tripping
and falling on the grounds never mind over an animal an you may see
your 501c3 embroiled in messy circumstances for years to come.

Being 501c3 has advantages... but lawsuits still can occur, and your
non profit designation will not protect you.! Check insurance companies
many times the one day insurance is almost as much as a years
policies... for the years events you need to have predetermined dates
for events at the time of purchase. The blanket policy is a cost
savings of great proprtion.

Just my 2 cents
