There's been some discussion lately on how to give a pill to a ferret.
Well, my vet just introduced me to something that she's quite excited about.
It's called a "pet piller". It sort of looks like a wide, long syringe with
a rubber top. You pull the plunger out (it only comes out about a half inch
or so), place the pill (or portion thereof) into the hole at the rubber end,
get the ferret's mouth open and place the rubber end as far back in the
mouth as you can, then depress the plunger. Pill goes shooting right down
the ferret's throat!

From my inexperience (I've never had to give an animal a pill before), this
is easy! I've done it twice now, and while I had a slight problem this
morning, mainly cuz the person holding the ferret is much taller than I am
and was holding Thor too high :^), I find this works really well and it's
very quick to administer. Dr. Z was psyched on this - said it's the only
way she's found to give a rabbit a pill!
