I don't think you are a bad fur mom at all.  My 3 have run of the house
with us there, a 4 story ferret condo with every kind of sleepy item in
it you can imagine.  And I even have pet insurance on them in case of
illness or surgery.  They go with us when weather permits and enjoy
outings.  I talk to them like I do anybody else and in the same way.  So
if you're a bad fert mom I guess that makes us bad fert dads. :)
