Dear Stephanie;
 
Yeasterday the legislature voted against SB55 which would have legalized
ferrets.  Last Oct.  the F&G voted 3:2 to goto notice of public rule making,
which is where they will decide how to make tham legal; Yes or no in pet
stores, need vacinations, etc.  It's rumored they are dragging their feet,
though, in making an environmental study.  Some other states just asked for
existing studies from where they were already legal, & rubber stamped it.  I
doubt Kalifornia is that smart.
 
The senate vote isn't the last, but I don't know when another will be taken.
 
I think someone's idea of writing the dept.  of tourism is a good one.  Most
gvt's seem to understand $$$ !
