Ashling developed pulmonary edema today. We popped her with extra Lasix
and kept her vertical so that she would be more comfy. Joe, our vet,
came in sick to help her leave the world. He confirmed that her lungs
were raspy and that it was time so we did as we always said we would --
when all that could be done for her carcinoma could no longer provide her
with quality time she had her mercy shot. We're glad that we were able
to give her 94 days with play and treats and love after that night when
her carcinoma almost first killed her. It hasn't really hit me yet that
she is gone.
