when you purchase ferrets from pet stores, please ask for the health
certificate and registration papers and take note of this very possibly
DEADLY statement on the health certificate.

On the Marshall Ferrets Health Certificate it states -
"I hereby certify that the animals in this shipment are, to the best of
my knowledge, acclimated to air temperatures as low as 10 degree F."
Per. Kent R. Marshall, DVM

This statement is listed on every health certificate for every shipment
of ferrets that are shipped from Marshalls to pet stores.

Those babies wouldn't survive air temperatures of 10 degrees for very
long if at all and they can get sick because of it! There was a case
a few years back of baby ferrets arriving FROZEN, literally FROZEN,
because of the temp in the cargo area.

Please take the time to email or call Marshall ferrets customer support
and let them know your concern that ferrets, especially baby ferrets
cannot survive in 10 degree temp for very long. Ask that they review
and change that statement to reflect the true air temperature ferrets
can survive.

Thank you in advance to those that contact Marshalls. I hope that we can
at least get this corrected to make sure that those that don't know about
temp control and ferrets won't subject these precious little beings to
deadly cold temperatures.
