I understand your point in a "Sort of fashion". I know when I first got
a ferret about 8 years ago(I was 10), we bought a jill and a hob kit from
a pet store for like $20. We kept them in a wire rabbit cage and the
only type of bedding they had was a sherpa-lined tunnel. At first, they
got to play out of the cage for 2-3 hours at a time...after a while they
began getting ignored. We gave away Jasmine and still had Alladin. He
died in his sleep about a year later.

It's not that we were low lifes that cared nothing about animals...it was
just we were not educated very well. We went to the library to read
ferret books but only found 2 or three and they were WAY out of date.
One said for us to feed cat food...so we fed them a cheap brand of
food...our intentions were good, but we didn't know any better.

Now 8 years later, all 5 of my fuzzies are spoiled rotten. Buckie and
Rosie share a 6 story cage, Noodles has a superpet cage(9 shelves) Kokie
is in his own cage for right now, and Mojo has her own 5 story cage. I
even went so far as to recently purchase $60 worth of bedding from
Rose...I promise it was WELL worth it. Yes I could have made it myself,
but I figured it would help out someone else....They also get about 3-4
hours a day free time out of the cage.

Now I understand what you mean by low lifes...(AHEM!COUGH! MORRISON!)
people who dont care about their animals are the ones who are set in
their own ways. they WILL NOT change what they are doing just because
someone told them to. Some are even stubborn.

But you will notice a difference from the uninformed...they are the
ones who want to make their animal's life the best possible and will do
anything in their power to make them happy and healthy. It's just they
didn't know better and their intentions were good and they are WILLING
to learn.

bla bla bla :)

(by the way, when we got our first two ferrets, we
lived in Montana...BRRRRRR and Jasmine was a HE*L of a
biter..we thought that was NORMAL)
