Oh, Gosh...Our ferret's (and us nervous ferret-parents)survived again-
and we raised $1,271.00 for our shelter- but we've all decided that
we're going to do something different next year- we've been soooo
lucky... we're gonna quite the legging on a good note... God Bless our
good fortune. On Monday our local paper once again covered this event,
which includes great pics plus a slide-show online:

Someone else told me a Fredericksburg paper also had a write up.

We had some crappy weather on Sat- but the rain let up both times we
did the legging with the Sterling Sword Players. The new location was
also much better than the old State Fair Grounds, where the RIR hold
the Nascar races...Plus, we have a permanent building- we'll be back
again next year, but we'll do some other events... not involving
putting a ferret down sweat pants. BTW, we never take "shelter" ferrets
out in public- we take our own personals and therapy ferrets.

And I want to thank my wonderful "volunteers", AKA Shelter Moms & Pops-
Karen & Allen Lamb, Paige & Alan Collier, Kris & Chris Church, Mark
Puz, Mike & Katie McDonald & Leslie Hill. Some of these folks came from
Waynesboro, VA., Culpepper, VA., Ford VA., and even South Carolina.
WOW.

I wouldn't be able to keep up & running without these incredible
people.

Just wanted to share one ferret shelters' good fortune.

Hugs to all,
