Hi all. Just got back from a week's vacation in Myrtle Beach, golfing.
While away, my fuzzies had a vacation too - a road trip to my sister's
in Philly. While they were there (for 10 days), puberty struck!!

They've both just turned 6 months old and had become quite stinky while
we were gone. Also, Beren began to savage Pippin's neck. How manly!

I had to separate them while sleeping, but allowed them to play together
- supervised of course.

I'm happy to say that they were neutered/spayed and descented today. Just
spoke with the vet and all went very well. (stunk up the hospital, but
what can you do???)

My SO and I took Beren and Pippin to the Ferret Oktoberfest in Hagerstown
this Saturday. What fun! Everyone made a big fuss over both of them,
as they are quite large for as young as they are. Pippin is 3-1/2 # and
Beren weighed in at a solid 5#. I only wish that we'd planned to go
earlier and could have registered them for the show ring. Many people asked
if we had them registered for judging. Maybe next time.

The show seemed to be quite a success. Many vendors and clubs from the
area (and some from far away). We purchased harnesses and leashes for
our two. We barely found a harness big enough for Beren, but mananged
to get an extra-large hob one. It works great. He previously would just
lie on the ground in a ferret-flop position and refuse to walk with a
collar and leash. He was actually doing pretty well. Miss Pippin, of
course was all over the place the minute she was put down, but couldn't
back out of it. Fun walks to come!!!

Take care all!

Cindy
Beren (oh, so this is how you use the ramp in the new cage)
Pippin (I just love this new fun house, mom!)
