I have a couple of questions I need answered.  My husband and I are
moving across state to our first home.  Gonzo has never lived anywhere
but in the apartment.  After all of our stuff is in the new house, we
will be taking a two week honeymoon.  I am having a hard time finding an
in home pet sitter for him.  I am able to rent a pet room at a kennel in
the new town.  I am so worried about Gonzo.  Personally, I believe in
home pet sitting is the way to go, but I think this would be best, and
safest, for Gonzo.  The house will still be full of boxes and i am not
sure of all the problem areas yet.  I am probably going to bring his
entire cage to the kennel, own litter boxes, a laundry basket full of
clean towels (he loves getting his back rubbed in them), and a shirt that
I will begin wearing to bed tonight (yuk).  Any other suggestions that
you can think of to help him feel more comfortable.
 
Two other questions.  I would like something like a disinfectent to clean
Gonzo's cage everyday.  I usaully do a quick wipe down with mild dishsoap
but I want something better.  I dont think a parvocide would be good on
plastic.  Any ideas?
 
What do you guys think about pur water filters for Gonzo's water.  I
live in Manitowoc, WI and we don't have the best water.  I will be moving
to a house with well water and don't know if this will be safe.  Bottled
water?  Keep filtering?  What do you think?  I* am really glad we will
be moving away from flouride water.  You know in large amounts it is
poisonous.
