We had been feeding our ferrets Mazzuri for about two years.  About 9
months ago several of our ferrets became ill.  They refused to eat their
food and began to lose weight.  We bought Science Diet and quickly changed
the food in their cage.  They began to eat again, but some were still weak
and thin when we had an outbreak of ECE.  We lost three ferrets and I still
swear we might not have lost three if they were not recovering from the bad
food episode when the ECE hit.  They have been on Science Diet since and
all are doing well.  A sample of the offending food was sent back to
Mazzuri for analisys and they claimed it was just turning...What is just
turning?, it's either bad or good!  This was a twenty pound bag our pet
store ordered for us once a month so it was not sitting in his store room
or anything.  It was sent to us bad right from Mazzuri.  Mazzuri sent us a
replacement bag, which I offered a small amount to our ferrets from, but
they refused to eat.
