Ode to the Gentle One
 
A strong ambassador were  you,
o'er looking all who came.
And heavy footsteps preceded he
who paced the floor in guardian stance.
 
Mighty Bear of white with wild fiery eyes
but meanness was a mere disguise.
Your heart was larger than your girth
You loved of life and those on earth,
 
And now from afar you gaze upon
those of us left behind.
Who will ever remember the gentle man
that gave his love right to the end.
 
May your spirit soar on high tonight
we look for you in that special light,
to carry your message on.
 
Rest now and play among those clouds
oh gentle child of white.
With kindred souls that waited for you
all through the long long nights.

It is with great sadness I tell you we lost in body a great part of Ferret
Wise Shelter.  After more than a year of compromised health Bear Ferretwise
was assisted across to Rainbow Bridge.  In his younger days Bear weighed
in a might 4.5 plus pounds.  Today he barely weighed 2 #.
