Most of their diet is Purina Ferret Chow.  Sometimes we mix in dry cat food.
Of course, when they're quick enough, they supplement that with what they can
grab off our plates <grin>.

That was my first thought as well.  I'm going to give a call to one we saw
recently on a list of vets who'll see ferrets.
 
The hair is coming back in, and rather quickly.
