To the best of my limited knowledge of Spanish (only acquired because
the neighborhood I live in is predominantly so), 'ferreteria' means
'hardware', like nuts and bolts-type hardware, not computer hardware.
I think it is derived from the Latin 'ferr(ous)' for iron, and since
lots of hardware is metal...so on, so on. Did that make sense? So
essentially, a ferreteria is a hardware store. Though I like the idea
of a cafeteria for ferrets, too. :)
