The last time I posted, it was right after receiving my Freedonia girl, so
I'll start with her. Sarah has always been a little thing (just over 1
lb.), but if I had to judge by the way she ate, I'd say she should weigh 5.
For playtime, she eats all the food on the floor around the boys' cage and
in the boys' cage.

Can ferrets be hyperthyroid? My old vet wasn't sure, since she hadn't read
anything about it.

My biggest concern is Detmer. We're guessing his age to be around 5-6 yrs.
For the past month, he's been having off and on bouts of diarrhea, varying
in liquidity (is that a word?). He usually has one day of really bad
diarrhea, followed by 5 or 6 days of gradually firmer poo. It never gets
past the pretty soft-yet-formed stage and it's always birdseedy. He's
eating/drinking/playing normally (in fact he's more active than ever). I
took him to the vet last week and he put him on Albon once a day. It really
doesn't seem to be making a difference at all. The next step would be
bloodwork and x-rays according to the vet (I just moved to a small town and
this is the first time I've been to this vet). Is there something else we
could try? Any ideas on what it could be? Should I try another week with
the Albon?

Another thing Detmer is doing is moonlighting as a pregnancy test. About a
month before we knew I was preggers, he started biting me for no reason,
and only me. He doesn't get along very well with my girls, so I thought
this was a girl thing. His biting has tapered, now that I don't trust him
putting his little mouth near me. It's not vicious biting, but it leaves
toothmarks. Has anyone else experienced this? At first I thought his
diarrhea might be caused by stress from the pregnancy, but it started
around my 4th month, so I'm not sure. Sorry for such a long post.

Laska "That's PRINCESS Laska to you."
Sarah "Why do you keep calling me Hoover?"
Snickers "I know I'll explode if you hold me still."
Detmer "I'm a ferret of many talents-pregnancy test and slug impersonator."
