Regarding the carpet pooping problem. First thing to is get more litter
boxes. I have one ferret room and 4 boxes!! Next thing, and this is the
miracle, is heavy duty plastic carpet runners. My finace threatend to
disown the fuzzies unless I could stop them from making the carpet smelly.
They use the boxes, but wipe little tails and the carpet. I bought an 15 ft
roll of the stuff (2 ft wide) and ran it along all my wall and in the
corners. Now I just wipe the plastic down about once a month ( I clean up
poop and pee when it happens) to remove any lingering smell. This has
worked wonders for my problems, which are all gone! Now if only I can
convine myself to clean the boxes a little more often :( .

PS. I saw an article in the Atlanta paper the said that last year in the
USA only 4 people died because of rabies. Two of these cases were confirmed
to have been caused by bat bites.
