Sounds pretty pricey to me.  You didn't say where you live but here in
Northern Nevada, the vets generally hold vaccination clinics and the
rabies and distemper shots for ferrets are $10.00 each.
 
WARNING!!
My vet and many people here on the FML do NOT recommend giving both shots
at the same time.
 
I would start looking for another vet.  If you live here in the U.S. or in
Canada, post your general location and someone will tell you the best place
to go!
