To help with the Massachusetts Ferret Friends' events planning over the
next year, I am compiling a calendar of dates and events of interest to pet
owners and shelters.  I found one source on the Web, but the page was
undated and I'm not sure whether these dates apply to 1998 and 1999.  If
anyone can steer me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
 
 April:
        Pets Are Wonderful Month
 
 May:
        First full week in May begins on Humane Sunday, the
                start of Be Kind to Animals Week
 
 September:
        National Responsible Pet Care Week (WHEN?)
 
 October:
        Sunday closest to 10/4 is St Francis Day/Blessing of the Animals
         10/4 World Day for Animals
         National Pet Health Week (WHEN?)
 
If you know of any other national (U.S.) or international special dates or
commemorations relating generally to pets or humane shelters, or if you know
dates for any ferret-related events coming up in New England over the next
18 months, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know.
