Yes Sukie, I do know that Fromme D was Galaxy D's prediccesor, BUT, it
was Galaxy D that was field tested in ferret rescues & shelters across
the US to prove it's effectiveness at protecting our ferrets against
Canine Distemper for a few years. As for the lab tests, I do believe it
was "male" AND "female" kits not that it is here or there on what sex
the test subjects were. Oh, and yes, I'm aware that Fromme D & Galaxy D
are two different vaccines.

As for my post about the Maryland & Ohio show, both of which were AFA
Sanctioned, The information I read about the Canine Distemper out
breaks were posted in the FML Archives by the people who were actually
attending those shows. The one that occured in MD I believe was posted
in the early 90s and the one that occured in Ohio I believe was posted
late 90s early 2000s. If I can find the posts I will send them into Big
to be republished again if he allows it.

IMO, I doubt this would have come about if the persons who had put on
the shows had actually checked and asked to be shown Proof that the
ferrets were upto on their Canine Distemper vaccines before the ferrets
were allowed in the show hall.

There is only one orginization show I have ever been too that has been
consistant over the years in checking ALL vaccination records as well
as doing a "Hands On" health check on every ferret that comes into it's
show hall as it done by either a liscensed vet or vet tech to ensure
the ferrets are healthy and parrisite free. (They do not leave it up
to the owners to be honest and are more conserned about the health &
welfare of the ferrets that showed proper documentation to be at the
show.) They even have a health check list for every ferret that is
checked off after every question is asked and the owner must sign it
when the health check is done. If there is any indication that the
ferret might be ill and/or has parrisites, the owner is asked to
please remove their ferret from the health check area & the show. To
my knowledge no ferret has ever contracted Canine distemper at any of
this orginization's shows. Most participants at this show also use
Galaxy D, but there were some that used Fervac D and now Purevax. It
also states in their show packet that ALL ferrets must be upto date on
the vaccinations (and explains which vaccines are acceptable, Canine
Distamper & Rabies vaccines.)and the day of the show proof of upto
date vaccines must be shown to get into the show hall.

People will use what ever vaccines they feel work the best as that is
their choice. As for me, I will only use Galaxy D as IMO it is the best
in protecting my ferrets against Canine Distemper and many of the vets
I have used agree with me.
