With Caroline's permission, I had posted her original article to
alt.pets.ferrets, rec.pets and alt.fan.tom-servo.  Later, on the suggestion
of somebody from apf I also posted it to alt.callahans, since apparently
there are all kinds of pet lovers in it.  I mention this because the
article is still in those ngs to the best of my knowledge.  In some
newsfeeds it might have scrolled over by tomorrow, but it can still be
read through Deja-Com.
 
X-posting to alt.fan.tom-servo initially proved a bit of a mistake.  This
is usually a bit of a joke ng.  But it is a very nice internet community
and although they don't know much about ferrets, there are at least two
devoted ferret lovers in it.  Also, folks in servo are of good conscience
and have been known to take the torch sometimes for serious and worthwhile
issues.  Unfortunately, I failed to make my intent clear on the x-post and
some folks in servo put the wrong spin on the thread.  Me and Beth have
done some damage control and it looks like the situation is back to
rational and sensible discussion, but my apologies to anyone who might
have been disturbed by some of the posts.  Sometimes, with the best of
intentions, mistakes are made.
 
Anyway, it looks like some well-earned heat is being turned up Tyson's ass.
This is not particularly spiritual of me but what the heck.
 
Muchisimo thanks to Caroline for the splendid job she has done with this,
and for bringing the other little neglected fuzzy into a lot of happiness
and warmth.

P.S.- On another Usenet note, it seems that the moderated rec.pets.ferrets
group is useless for all purposes.  All that ever appears in it is the
FAQ.  No articles ever make it.  Dunno if anybody on this list knows
anything about it.
