Should Farrah see a vet for a checkup?

Our Farrah is 5 years old and seemingly in excellent health.  My wife says
we should take her to a vet for a checkup.  We've had her for one year and
she's not been to a vet in that time.  I'm not aware that her pervious
owners ever took her to a vet.  Would it be a good idea to take her to a vet
for a once over?
