I totally agree with this point, in that many cleaning chemicals CAN and
WILL cause illness if not death in household pets..

One of the main reasons I agree, is that we ourselves ( us the human
part of the family) have had to do away with many many chemical types of
cleaners, cooking products, food additives, car polishers, household
glues, etc etc, as we both ( myself and my wife) have a condition which
is made worse when we inhale, absorb, or come in contact with such
products.... I can only imagine what sort of effect it would have on
small pets, especially those simplistic metabolisms..( i.e.: we humans
have many many more organs evolved to handle "poisons" then many animals
do.)

anyhow.. the point I wanted to say is, it is not just the condition of
our household that can effect them... for example, we try our best not to
allow them to eat cockroaches, or other insects that come into the house
(even tho it is a favorite pastime of some of our rugrats) but, because
many of those insects may have been already sprayed with poisons in
someone else's house... also, we don't like the idea of taking them to a
local "park"/"playground, as those green areas are often sprayed with
weed killers etc.. which may be Ok for dogs or cats, but for an animal
that insists on smelling every square inch and then rolling in it...
well..MM.
