Hi everone!
I took Greta to the new vet yesterday (Saturday) and he seems to know what
he's doing (finally!). He looked over the x-rays I brought from the other
vet. He said he can see "something" possibly an enlargement of the heart,
but not sure at this point what it is. He took blood and is sending it in
for a complete analysis including a heartworm test.

Otherwise, he said she looks real good- strong heart beat, etc. I will
call him on Tuesday for the results. I found out that the breeder where
she most likely came from, is known for breeding ferrets with "defects"
(not MF). I'm hoping it is nothing that will shorten or diminish her life
too much! I wil do wahtever it takes to make her happy and comfy! Does
anyone have a ferret who gives themselves a bath like a cat? Greta does
this every morning! I take her out of her cage and bring her into bed
with me, where she spend the next five minutes or so, washing her paws and
washing her face, (sneezing and wiping her nose on my pajamas!),
stretching, and rubbing against my arm and finally running off to play.
It's SO sweet!

I want to add my two cents about FML etiquette. When someone posts about
losing a fuzzie or having a problem or accident, they come to us for help,
encouragement, and guidance. A person who is already suffering from pain,
guilt and/or worry does not need to be subjected to blame and criticism
from us. Like Sam said, we need to respond with compassion and helpful
hints in a positive tone if we truely wish to be of help to this person.
Don't kick a person when they are already down! Sometimes people need a
little direction and guidance, but they won't be likely to respond to
negative, flaming criticism. We don't want to hurt anyone here or chase
them away! We ALL make mistakes and we can all learn from them in a
positive way. :o)

Barb and the ever-lovin' fuzzies,
Lucy ( How come Greta gets all the attention lately?)
Greta (Because I'm SO adorable with my new coat!)
