I agree that the arguing over raw vs. kibble needs to be stopped. We
all know all the pros and cons of both raw and kibble diets. Arguing
about it isn't going to change anybody's mind on which diet they will
use. Everyone has their own opinions and will most likely stick by
them. In fact, I have a friend who lived in Austrailia most of her
life. She's 72 years old now and is still as spry and lively as a 35
year old. She loves her furbabies and still insists that the old
fashioned diet of bread and milk (bread and milk?!) is the best diet
for ferrets. Though we all know that bread and milk is the WORST diet
for ferrets, you could tell her that a million times and have a vet
tell her and show her proof...and she will still insist. All of her
ferrets have lived long lives - it's probably good luck.

I'm just saying that you can justify live, raw, kibble or whatever
but you can't and shouldn't try to make someone else believe what
you believe. I'm sorry if this upset anyone, but I just think it's
childish. If you HAVE to discuss this topic, please be polite, tactful,
and sensitive to how the other person feels. It makes me cringe to see
some of the rude things people say!

Thank you!

[Moderator's Note: The average subscriber reads the FML for a few
months, so there are always new people who can learn. Many people have
no idea whole prey is even an option. Many have no idea Friskies isn't
an ideal diet for a ferret. Posts discussing dietary options are good
educational posts.

Unfortuantely, over the years I've noticed FMLers become increasingly
hyper-sensitive to this topic. Diet is definitely an important topic
(all our ferrets have to eat, after all!) but the strong emotions
accompanying this discussion make no sense to me. I hope people wanting
more information about food will make use of the archives. Perhaps one
day I'll get a chance to collect the best posts and distibute that.
For now, I guess the topic is closed ... until the next time. BIG]
