Hi, everyone,

I am just thrilled about today's visit to the vet. Pertwee, my two year
old albino male, after 13 months, finally got a clean bill of health and,
barring something unforeseen, won't be going back to the vet until his
shots are due in January. It's been a long time coming, and it cost a
lot to get here, but I am overjoyed.

For those of you who haven't followed his story, Pertwee has had both
adrenal glands and a kidney out this year. The adrenal glands were both
lost to malignant carcinomas, while the kidney was polycystic and was one
of those oh-so-rare cases where the renal cysts actually were a clinical
problem and were causing him terrible pain. Since the nephrectomy in
July Pertwee's recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. He is as
exuberant and as playful as he was before this all started, is back to his
normal, incredibly hyper even for a ferret energy level, and has gained
back 410 grams of the weight he lost.

I just thought some of you might enjoy reading a happy ending for a
change :)

All the best,
Caity
